Strategic & Operational Service Planning

Is it time to review and update your strategic and or operational plans?

Strategic planning is what enables organisations to set a clear direction for the future, drawing on the organisational vision, mission, values, key drivers, to build a strategic competitive advantage. This may incorporate workforce redesign, management development, client focus and engagement, tender success, service and best practice models, service integration, quality systems, practices and processes, competition, impact of government reforms, building a clear identity and effective communication.

As an organisation you need a strategy to guide your operational planning to prepare for the changing environment within which you are providing your service delivery into the future. This will build the strength of your organisation and creating consistency in service delivery, identifying and remedying flaws and enhancing organisational strengths.

I can support you with:

  • strategic and operational planning

  • structural and staff planning, reviews and job re-design

  • process consultancy and change management

  • service capacity building

To achieve realistic outcomes I apply a social innovation model that comes from prioritising what people want and need and what works to meet the organisations needs. The model is implemented through a co-design approach – working with your people to design policies, programs and solutions that work for you and your staff. I have successfully applied this model in the Domestic and Family Violence and the Intensive Family Support Sectors.

Partnership Building

Do you require support in building on your partnership working?

I can support you in establishing clear objectives that identifies commonalities in your goals, ensuring that all parties are on the same page and supporting your partnership to set agreed benchmarks for measuring your joint projects success.

In doing this I will support all parties in being honest about weaknesses and gaps, identifying who has the expertise or core competencies in particular areas, ensuring the right involvement for each party.

I can work with you to identify what makes your business unique, owning your intellectual property and the value you bring to a partnership. This will inform the negotiation of the terms of any agreement that ensures good relationships with open transparent ongoing communication.

If needed I can research the proposed partner agencies background and established track record of achievements, to confirm confidence that they can deliver what they're promising before you enter into any kind of relationship.

Designing & Leading Service Delivery Integration

Do you need a model that sets out the resources and activities that comprise the program, and the changes that are expected to result from them to enable you to design a new program or to create evaluation measures?

I can support you to develop a visual representation of the relationships between the program inputs, goals and activities, its operational and organisational resources, the techniques and practices, and the expected outputs and effects.

It is an opportunity for you to review your policies, procedures and systems regarding governance and management, risk management, service delivery responses and human resource management. It also provides an opportunity to check that your services are in line with your service agreements, legislation and any relevant practice standards. An audit supports you to update your systems to ensure safety, wellbeing and rights of clients; to review service access for a diverse range of clients and reviews how you meet individual client needs, as well as demonstrating easy access for clients to established complaints and appeal processes; whilst reflecting on the quality of your service provision. A good audit helps you to demonstrate how you  include  participation of clients accessing your services to in a continually improvement for service quality, design and evaluation. Finally it provides an opportunity to review and update your continuous improvement plan.

From my many years in Senior Management roles across the Human Service Sector, I can work alongside you to prepare you and your staff for an audit, to identifypolicies, systems and processes that may require some attention, and to identify key items that can become past of your continuous improvement plan.
