Strategic & Operational Service Planning

Is it time to review and update your strategic and or operational plans?

Strategic planning is what enables organisations to set a clear direction for the future, drawing on the organisational vision, mission, values, key drivers, to build a strategic competitive advantage. This may incorporate workforce redesign, management development, client focus and engagement, tender success, service and best practice models, service integration, quality systems, practices and processes, competition, impact of government reforms, building a clear identity and effective communication.

As an organisation you need a strategic to guide your operational planning to prepare for the changing environment within which you are providing your service delivery into the future. This will build the strength of your organisation and creating consistency in service delivery, identifying and remedying flaws and enhancing organisational strengths.

Sue can support you with:

  • strategic and operational planning

  •  structural and staff planning, reviews and job re-design

  •  process consultancy and change management

  • service capacity building

To achieve realistic outcomes Sue applies a social innovation model that comes from prioritising what people want and need over what systems want. The model is implemented through a co-design approach – working with your people to design policies, programs and solutions that work for you and your staff. Sue has successfully applied this model in the Domestic and Family Violence and the Intensive Family Support Sectors.

Partnership Building

Do you require support in building on your partnership working?

Sue can support you in establishing clear objectives that identifies commonalities in your goals, ensuring that all parties are on the same page and supporting your partnership to set agreed benchmarks for measuring your joint projects success.

In doing this Sue will support all parties in being honest about weaknesses and gaps, identifying who has the expertise or core competencies in particular areas, ensuring the right involvement for each party.

Sue can work with you to identify what makes your business unique, owning your intellectual property and the value you bring to a partnership will inform the negotiation of the terms of any agreement that ensures good relationships with open transparent ongoing communication.

If needed Sue can research the proposed partner agencies background and established track record of achievements, to confirm confidence that they can deliver what they're promising before you enter into any kind of relationship.

Supervision

Are you in need of professional independent supervision for you or your staff?

Accessing external supervision can provide you with an opportunity to independently reflect on your practice, case work and professional framework for practice. It enables you to take the time to unpack issues that you are struggling with at work and opens opportunities for you to focus on your own professional direction beyond your current employment, developing your focus on your professional career projection.

I can offer you:

  • One-off, time limited, and ongoing external professional supervision for workers in government and community-based agencies

  • Group professional supervision to assist workgroups with team functioning or practice related matters

  • In-house or in an external setting, as fits the purpose and nature of the supervision

  • Group or individual tutorials to consolidate training activities

I can provide you with external supervision and this will enable you to have an opportunity to independently reflect on your management or practice and to identify possible future professional or personal development needs by exploring your:

  • management and leadership style, people management and your handling of difficult discussions

  • service design, planning, review, change management, communication strategies and or restructuring

  • professional practice framework and it's application to client work within legislation practice standards and your organisations policies and procedures.

Mentoring

As a leader do you need to be challenged and extended beyond your comfort zones, supported, coached, connected, have someone to learn from or with, helped to find various resources and or someone that can just listen?

That’s what Mentoring is all about, as a leader trying to do things is difficult, trying to do them alone, is more often than not impossible. You can never been too successful for a mentor. What it is you are looking for and if it is someone that will:

  • challenge you by asking questions that take you outside your comfort zone

  • that can boost your self-esteem and confidence until you feel brave enough to step over your own boundaries

  • that can support you to unpack your practice and reflect on what elements of your framework you have used and explore how you can continually improve your skills, knowledge and style

  • who has many years’ experience in leadership, who’s knowledge you can draw on to innovate or overcome the barriers or blockages to your practice.

Then I am the mentor for you.

Training

Do you know what your staff training needs are and can you meet them?

I could undertake a training needs analysis and develop tailored training packages for your staff or develop strategies and initiatives focused on individual staff capability requirements. I have developed a range of training packages for innovative learning and developmental experiences designed to create sustainable behaviour and consistent practice culture in areas such as:

  • leading and managing teams

  • incorporating values into team leadership

  • leading and managing change

  • managing the shadow side

  • building cultural awareness into your leadership

  • coaching conversations for team leaders and team members.

I apply adult learning principles and an action learning approach to training that is experiential through activities and case scenarios that provide opportunities to focus on what processes works the application of reflection as a key learning tool to help cultivate practice and learning’s.

Training and Development
Team Building, Problem Solving & Conflict Resolution

Are some of your meetings becoming a little difficult to manage, are you and your team on the same page and heading in the same direction?

Occasionally bringing in an external facilitator can enable organisations that are feeling a bit stuck, to reinvigorate you and your team’s drivers, passion and processes. As an external facilitator I can help you too:

  • review your primary drivers and purposes

  • unpack obstacles, disagreement or conflict to enable you to reach  agreements or move forward

  • clarify roles and responsibilities

  • explore and align differing practice frameworks

  • emotional intelligence

  • simply to lighten the tension and have some fun that strengthen the teams relationships

Mindful Leadership

I am a motivational facilitator that is engaging, stimulating and safe. I am open and transparent and I apply an appreciative enquiry approach that is inspirational and motivational.

Mindful Leadership

Do you find it hard to stay in the moment, due to constant distractions, do you find yourself becoming reactive rather than engaging?

I can work with you to raise you and your teams awareness of how to become more mindful, through the application of a number of emotional awareness processes that will help you to pay more attention in the moment, to have a better understanding of your role in how things unfold and how to take action to be more aware, disciplined and focused. Research has identified that mindfulness in the work place increases productivity, decision making, listening, and reduces stress levels.

As a leader the biggest benefit of mindfulness is its direct impact on the development of emotional intelligence. As identified by Daniel Goleman, a leading expert on emotional intelligence, recently made a direct connection between mindfulness and emotional intelligence, saying that:

  • Emotional intelligence builds attention and focus.

  • Attention and focus are cornerstones in enhancing self-awareness, as well as empathy.

  • Self-awareness and empathy are critical skills to enhancing emotional awareness.

I’ve never aspired to be a leader.

I have only focused on doing things that I felt were important.
